About Us, We’re Evelyn & Matt, the Duo Behind CookUpJoy.com

Hi! We’re Evelyn and Matt – the team behind CookUpJoy.com. I (Evelyn) am the main voice, cook, and recipe creator here, and Matt is my partner in life, taste-testing, tech support, and everything in between. Together, we’ve built this blog as a place to share the joy we find in everyday cooking.

My love for food started over 27 years ago, when I was just a little girl cooking beside my grandmother. Those early moments sparked something that stayed with me for life – the idea that food is about more than just feeding people. It’s about connection, creativity, and care.

Matt came into the picture with a curiosity for flavor and a practical eye. He’s the one who’s always asking, “Can we make this easier?” or “What if we try it this way?” While I bring tradition and heart, Matt brings balance, simplicity, and a helpful dose of logic to everything we cook and share.

Why We Created CookUpJoy

We started CookUpJoy.com because we wanted to create a space where real people could find real recipes – the kind you’ll actually want to make again and again. Life can be busy and messy, and cooking shouldn’t feel like one more chore. Our goal is to make it feel like something you look forward to – something joyful.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Family-friendly meals with bold, honest flavor

  • Quick weeknight recipes and slow weekend favorites

  • Comfort food with a healthier twist

  • Simple baking that feels like self-care

  • And personal stories from our kitchen to yours

Every recipe is tested in our own home. We write them the way we cook: with clarity, flexibility, and encouragement. Whether you’re cooking solo, for your family, or for the first time ever, we want you to feel right at home here.

What CookUpJoy Means to Us

For us, cooking is how we unwind, reconnect, and express love. The name CookUpJoy is exactly what we try to do every day – bring a little joy to our kitchen, and share that joy with you.

We truly believe that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. If we can help make your kitchen feel more approachable, your meals more enjoyable, and your confidence a little stronger, then we’ve done our job.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for trusting us with your time, your ingredients, and your hunger. We’re so grateful you’ve joined us on this journey – and we can’t wait to keep cooking up joy with you, one recipe at a time.

With warmth,
Evelyn & Matt
