‘Bat’s Brew’ Berry Punch (An Easy Halloween Mocktail!)

A hand holding an elegant glass of a homemade, red, and spooky "Bat's Brew" Punch at a fun and festive Halloween party.

An easy, no-cook recipe for a refreshing and spooky ‘Bat’s Berry Blizzard Mocktail,’ perfect for a Halloween party. This festive, non-alcoholic drink is made by muddling a mix of fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries) with mint leaves to release their juices and oils. The muddled fruit is then shaken with ice, fresh citrus juice, and a sweetener. The chilled mixture is strained into a glass and topped with fizzy sparkling water or soda for a vibrant and bubbly mocktail.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ¼ cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • ¼ cup raspberries
  • ¼ cup blackberries
  • 6 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (or honey/agave)
  • 1 cup sparkling water, club soda, or lemon-lime soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra berries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add the blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and mint leaves.
  2. Muddle the fruit and mint well to release their juices and oils.
  3. Add the lemon juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker about halfway with ice cubes.
  5. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside is chilled.
  6. Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. (Straining is optional if you prefer the texture of the muddled fruit).
  7. Top the drink with sparkling water, club soda, or lemon-lime soda.
  8. Gently stir and garnish with extra berries and a fresh mint sprig.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • This is a very fast, single-serving mocktail that is perfect for all ages.
  • Muddling the berries and mint is a key step that extracts the maximum amount of flavor.
  • Straining the mixture will result in a clearer drink, while leaving it unstrained will provide more texture from the fruit pulp.
  • For a vegan version, ensure you use simple syrup or agave instead of honey.
