Easter Dirt Cups: A Fun and Festive Treat

These Easter Dirt Cups are a fun and festive twist on the classic dirt cake! Easy to make and perfect for individual servings, they’re a delightful treat for any Easter celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3.9 oz.) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 package Oreo cookies, finely crushed (with filling removed)
  • Food coloring (your choice of colors)
  • Shredded coconut

  • Candy eggs and Peeps for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pudding:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes.
    • Let the pudding mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
  • Color the Pudding:

    • Divide the pudding mixture into two bowls.
    • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until you achieve your desired colors. I used purple and light pink, but you can use any colors you like!
  • Fold in Cool Whip:

    • Gently fold the Cool Whip into each bowl of colored pudding until evenly combined.
  • Layer the Dirt Cups:

    • Start by adding a tablespoon of crushed Oreo cookies to the bottom of each mason jar or cup.
    • Top with a layer of one of the colored pudding mixtures.
    • Repeat the layers, alternating between the different colored puddings and the Oreo crumbs, until you reach the top of the jar.
    • Finish with a layer of Oreo crumbs to create the “dirt” topping.

  • Chill and Decorate:

    • Refrigerate the Easter Dirt Cups for at least 1 hour to allow the pudding to set.
    • To make the “grass,” add the shredded coconut to a container with a lid. Add a few drops of green food coloring and a touch of water. Close the lid and shake until the coconut is evenly colored.
    • Just before serving, sprinkle the green coconut on top of each dirt cup.
    • Decorate with candy eggs and Peeps for a festive touch.
