Garlic Parmesan Cheeseburger Bombs: An Explosion of Cheesy, Beefy Goodness

Get ready for a flavor adventure with these Garlic Parmesan Cheeseburger Bombs!

Ingredients

Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients that make these bombs so irresistible:

For the Filling:

  • Ground Beef: 1 lb (80/20 fat content recommended). The higher fat content ensures a juicy and flavorful filling. Using 80/20 ground beef will allow you to have the perfect ratio of meat to fat.
  • Cheddar Cheese: 1 cup, shredded. Sharp cheddar adds a bold, tangy flavor that complements the beef perfectly. But you can use other melty cheese as well.
  • Garlic Powder: 2 tsp. This is where the garlicky goodness begins. Garlic powder infuses the beef with a savory aroma and flavor.
  • Salt: 1 tsp. Enhances the flavors of the beef and cheese.
  • Black Pepper: 1 tsp. Adds a touch of warmth and complexity.

For the Dough:

  • Refrigerated Biscuit Dough: 2 cans (8 biscuits each). This is our shortcut to easy, fluffy dough. Use your favorite brand, such as Grands or Pillsbury. Using the big cans is better so the bombs are not too small.

For the Topping:

  • Butter: 2 tbsp, melted. Creates a rich, flavorful base for the Parmesan topping.
  • Parmesan Cheese: ½ cup, grated. Freshly grated Parmesan is always best for its nutty, salty flavor.
  • Garlic Powder: 1 tsp. More garlic! This amplifies the garlic flavor in the topping.

Essential Equipment:

  • Large Skillet: For browning the ground beef.
  • Mixing Bowls: For combining the filling ingredients and the topping ingredients.
  • Baking Sheet: For baking the cheeseburger bombs.
  • Rolling Pin (Optional): For flattening the biscuit dough.
  • Pastry Brush: For brushing the melted butter mixture over the bombs.

Instructions

Follow these simple steps to create your own batch of Garlic Parmesan Cheeseburger Bombs:

1. Prepare Your Ingredients:

  • Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Take the ground beef out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. This helps it cook more evenly.
  • Open the cans of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits.

2. Cook the Ground Beef:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking the meat up into small crumbles with a spoon or spatula, until no pink remains. The internal temperature of the beef should reach 160°F (71°C) to ensure it’s fully cooked.
  • Drain off any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Stir in the garlic powder and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and well combined with the beef.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and set it aside to cool slightly.

3. Assemble Your Cheeseburger Bombs:

  • Take one biscuit and flatten it into a 4-inch circle using your hands or a rolling pin.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the beef and cheese mixture into the center of the flattened biscuit.
  • Top with another tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.
  • Carefully place another flattened biscuit on top and pinch the edges of the two biscuits together firmly to seal the filling inside. Make sure it is well sealed. Repeat this process with the remaining biscuits and filling.

4. Bake the Cheeseburger Bombs:

  • Arrange the assembled bombs seam-side down on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each one to allow for even baking.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops of the bombs are golden brown and the dough is cooked through.

5. Add the Parmesan Garlic Topping:

  • While the bombs are baking, prepare the topping. Melt the butter in a small bowl and mix it with the grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder until well combined.
  • As soon as the bombs come out of the oven, use a pastry brush to generously brush the Parmesan garlic butter mixture over the tops of each one.

Notes

Tips and Variations:

  • Spice it Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture or the topping for a little heat.
  • Add Veggies: Finely chop some onions or bell peppers and sauté them with the ground beef for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Cheese Variations: Experiment with different types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or mozzarella.
  • Bacon Makes Everything Better: Cook some bacon until crispy, crumble it, and add it to the beef mixture for an extra layer of smoky flavor.
  • Dipping Sauces: Serve these bombs with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch dressing, marinara sauce, or BBQ sauce.
