Make the Lemon Cake:

  1. Prepare Oven and Pan: Butter a 9-inch cake pan. Preheat oven to 300ºF (150ºC).

  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
