The Ultimate 5-Minute Praline Ice Cream Sandwiches

A party setup for a build-your-own Praline Ice Cream Sandwiches bar.

A quick and easy semi-homemade dessert, these ice cream sandwiches are made by layering a scoop of softened praline or butter pecan ice cream and a spoonful of caramel sauce between two chocolate wafers. The edges are smoothed and can be optionally rolled in chopped pecans for extra crunch. The finished sandwiches are then wrapped and frozen until firm.

Ingredients

  • Praline or butter pecan ice cream, softened
  • Caramel sauce
  • Chocolate wafers
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place a scoop of softened praline or butter pecan ice cream on one chocolate wafer.
  2. Add a spoonful of caramel sauce on top of the ice cream.
  3. Top with a second chocolate wafer to create a sandwich.
  4. Run a knife around the edge of the sandwich to smooth the ice cream.
  5. If desired, roll the smoothed edge in chopped pecans to coat.
  6. Wrap the finished sandwich in plastic wrap.
  7. Freeze until firm and ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use either praline or butter pecan ice cream.
  • Rolling the edges in chopped pecans is an optional step for added texture and flavor.
  • Soften the ice cream for just a few minutes at room temperature so it’s scoopable but not melted.
